Good post! As a veteran (lol, ~4 months makes me a vet) I agree that Steemit should be reevaluated often.
re: engagement: Commenting on other people's posts is great for the site and good for you too. Getting to know other people here means you get to see the good stuff and others get to see your good stuff. I have followed many people after just curiously clicking their name on one of their comments on one of my posts.
I've started following that trend myself. I follow great commenters.
Lol as far as the 4 months goes it's like dog years in the universe of Steemit. We consume so much knowledge and grow so fast here it's hard to imagine it's only been a few months.

Agreed! Most of the people I follow I originally found in the comments sections, not so much the feeds.
