RE: We need content from within Steemit to go internet-viral.

Definitely. So far the most viral post I can think of from Steemit is Dan's post "Is The DAO going to be DOA?" which was posted before the The DAO exploit was found. Since then there haven't been many that got traction outside of the Steemit world.

What is very unfortunate is that for one reason or another, myopic media sites may be shadowbanning Steemit links. Ned has said that as Neil Strauss has posted Steemit links on his Facebook account, suddenly the number of likes those posts received went way down, while other posts to other links got hundreds of likes. Ned also said that Reddit was not allowing Steemit posts to climb the trending ladder.

This is from what Ned has said, I can't verify these claims. If it's really happening, this kind of shady handicapping of Steemit links may impede the ability of any post to go viral.

I really hope that's not true. Very unfortunate if so.
It makes me wonder if those who are willing to invest in Steem are also willing to invest in possibly taking advantage of SEO in some way to make searches result in more things from Steemit.
