Steemit Glitch?

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

Not really sure what is going on. I just hit rep level 52 and all the sites collecting data from the blockchain now think I am level 61. My numbers are correct here on the site, but am alarmed that the blockchain is sending out incorrect information. I see this both on Steem Now and SteemWorld. Anyone else seeing this, and anyone have a clue how one lets those who are maintaining the databases know something weird is going on with their data feeds?

Not really sure how to tag this, but hoping maybe a witness can weigh in on what is going on.

Edited to add: It appears to have resolved itself while I slept. This is one of those times i wish I wasn't as tech challenged as I am. The questions it raised in my head was if the chain could broadcast incorrectly my rep number, could it also incorrectly broadcast other information like the amount of Steem/SBD/SP in my wallet etc. I have run several websites in my life, but none ever using feeds so am unsure how one could get jacked while the site itself has it correct.

I have no idea how you got such a boost. Of course, I think you deserve the 61 anyways because your comments are better than 99% of the posts I read every week. Just saying. ;)

Thank you, that is kind of you to say.

The part that alarmed me more was if the chain could somehow broadcast my rep wrong, what else could it broadcast wrong (wallet info)? I have noticed other weird things in my time here, but it was never anything I could screenshot and prove.

My first two thoughts when I posted this were 1- Damn, I voted this up and 2- Damn, my friend in Russia has me on auto vote.

While I have you here, a quick question please so as not to disrupt one of your threads. In a previous post where you were covering experiments you have done here, you mentioned you participated in the SBI and wouldn't be investing more in it. I looked into that recently and they are claiming at least to offer a 200% return within 1 year. That is way higher than delegating so I was curious why you were not a fan of it. I know there has to be a good reason as you dissect things like no one else i have come across here.

After almost 2 months with SBI, I'm still not sure how much I like it. I get about a .10 upvote daily from them, but I have bought 17 shares. I upvote them twice a day at like 5% I think also. I post almost daily, so that is about 2.8 STU per month of which .7 goes to curation so about 2.0 STU. Is that worth my 17 Steem invested? Probably and plus, the people I sponsored also get an 2.8 in upvotes a month. When I think of it that way, it sounds like a really good program.

Does all that work out to 200% per year? I would have to run the numbers to be sure, but I'm still not positive that the program is sustainable.

If sometime down the road you have the time (I am already amazed at the time you put into this) to figure the math that would be awesome. I also question how sustainable it will be as it continues to grow. Theoretically it could one day dwarf the whales in its percentage of the reward pool, and I wonder what that dilution would mean to everyone else, especially those not participating.

I was once shown to be at level 79 on November 17th 2016. It resolved itself as well ;)

It looks as if it was very predictive as well. ;)

Thanks for showing me it happened to you once as well. I am especially impressed (laughing) that you have the screenshot and the date, lol. I also took 2 screenshots (Steem Now and Steemworld). My main concern was someone had found a way to hack the blockchain and fool it into sending false information. I am sure that concern reveals my ignorance, but I came to the conclusion long ago anything can be hacked.
