[Steemit Proposal] Further gamification of Steemit : We need badges and stats!! Achievements! Scores! Medals!

in #steemit9 years ago

After reviewing the comments on my earlier "achievement post", it became clear to me that Steemit should broaden the gamification experience outside of just the monetary rewards feeding the Game Theory. What we really need are BADGES! And lots of them! Flawless Victory: over 3000 SP!

We need a top curator badge on how well you curate and a vote for feed so we can follow the best curators votes

Like for me it's make a big mess on UI.

Haha, it does look a bit cluttered but I'm sure a UX designer like the awesome @cass can put something beautiful together!

I agree! Badges and other achievements will really make it more exciting and fun! It's very evident in things like Xbox games and mobile games in things like new costumes and characters.. lots of money spent there actually! Mine are 100+ followers, 500+ posts, 100+ followed (though followed might not be one), 50+ reputation, and 200+ SP! Haha

Each time thanks is better and better

I prefer PSN trophies :)

I don't personally like most of the gamification implementations I have tested. They might be fun for a few days but after that mostly annoying.

But if somebody wants to implement some gamification to UI, that's ok. But don't force everybody to use it and keep it away from the blockchain.

Making it more like a game has positive and negative aspects... the positive are ok, but among the negative you will find that some will feel like ...losers for not having what others have. We tend to compare ourselves to what others are doing way too much and that's a human psychological vulnerability.

Having said that, I'm more in favor of discrete badges for high reputation or people who've really established themselves with their earnings...

I would also fancy top curation badges (curation reward ratio in relation to what one's curation power is). This would allow even minnows to show that they can pick the right articles...

@r4fken

What is the point of followers if they don't supports you?

I only follow those that supported me.
Something like Follow you Follow me
Followup FollowBack
I keep upvoting everyone , two days now still can't recharging full 💯 %

Talking about having a lot of followers.

I can't even get 10% of my followers to upvote me.

The Feed are very useful. I can see my followers activities .
I support them back. I know who upvoting me.
I always check.

I don't know if I need more reminders of my failings lol.

I like the ideas you propose. It would make Steemit more immersive.

It is an interesting proposal. I think it would help!

Steemit also needs bookmarks, favorites or something like that. Without commenting I can't find my way back to this blog of yours (as an example) quickly. Even when replying if I post 100 comments after this one I'll have a hard time getting back here in no time. Yesterday, I tried upvoting & commenting a 3 months old post about the inner workings of the site but couldn't do anything of that sort since, I believe, it had been monetized for good. No star or heart please... maybe some steaming pot indicating you caught some of the steem for keeps.
postimage

Interesting. I never would've thought of it that way. If implemented, this might be a huge drive into the system. The name of the game is to incentivization after all.

Hi @r4fken - I'm putting together a master 'wish list' of Steemit enhancement ideas. Do you mind if I include this in the post? (I will reference your post with a link.)
