No entiendo cómo funciona el Ecosistema de steemit

Verán, entiendo que steemit es una red social que paga por la calidad de contenido por medio de un sistema de votación. Lo que no me queda claro es como es sostenible que Steemit pague a los usuarios por el contenido. ¿De donde viene la fuente de ingresos para el Blockchain?
