The future of social media in general and the future of Steemit in particularity is closely linked to the ties that can do people. Everything is about people. What really is revolting here is that you have a monetized feed-back of the actions you take. This is truly revolutionary. You can increase your popularity through valuable content and the creation of online communities. The idea of becoming a community becomes very important if you want to build something on the Steemit. The future is to change the old traditions of individuality, but to learn to live in communities and to help others, in order to be helped. So, build your communities and see exactly what the effects will be on the individual level. The system seems to be simple, but only through experience, making it possible to find out exactly how it works. It is possible that at first the algormithm is a difficult thing to understand.

The downside is that anyone can mine anything about everyone and sell information found out of that to third parties.

Steemit does not ask and collect for personal information. If the user posts them, it's his problem.
