I agree with your points. I think we're still early days in Steem-land. I joined in July 2017, so I wasn't around for the early days, but I think that a few celebrities joining, SMTs taking off etc and Steemit could really take off.

I read your post and I was positive impressed. What you wrote there is no bullshit and is all true. From the first line of the article to the last one I became more and more inspired to try gain some success on Steemit. Thanks for all the inspiration and good thoughts.

Your welcome. 🙏

There are two types of humans: the ones which inspire others and the ones which are inspired. Guess your type :0

Both! :-)

Haha. Unexpected answer lmao. but still, such a wisely choose.

Also, could you give me your steemit chat username, if you don't mind?? I have some question and I thought you could help me, if you have the time.

Pretty sure it’s just roksivante

Nope, I tried. I tried rok-sivante too. Any other way we can have a conversation ?

You are totally right with these points. SBD has the potential to go up right now and the fact that lesser people in the blockchain means that better rewards can go round should serve as a motivation to churn out good content here.

You nailed it, especially with the concept of setting the example for the future generations coming to Steemit. My goal is to share concepts and life lessons and be an open book that hopefully can help the rest of the Steemians here. You're post lets me know it for the better of the group.

Thanks for the inspiration,
</Jon

I agree with all of your points. We are near, very near a turning point. I think a lot of steemians are beginning to see it, feel it. You and I are at least 2 - LOL. I'm powering up everything I possibly can.

Indeed. You may only be a few months away from becoming a Steemillionaire... 😎

Hello again Rok.

Today was my "birthday" of sorts. 1 Month Old. I mentioned you in my 1 month recap post as you were one of my first friends here... heck, I know you're a big fish and I'm a little one (still) so I notice you more than you me which is natural, but I want to tell you that I always read your articles attentivelly as you're one of the guys here who I love to follow.

You're more down to earth than others related to the crypto game and that is why I asked for your advice in the past.
Anyways mate, I agree that now is the time to act, and I'm only sorry that I didn't arrive here sooner.

Finally, a question on this upcoming year.
Do you think EOS will shift the attention from STEEM and BTS to it?

Cheers

Awww, thanks Max.

I’d say that’s probably a fair bet that while EOS gets more attention, it’s spotlight would be likely to shine more light on Steemit and Bitshares.

Surprisingly, there really isn’t that much attention on the first two. Despite them proving the best performing blockchains, they’re oddly relative unknown still. It’d be my guess that as EOS grows, more dig in to find out its roots and are turned onto Bitshares and Steemit - and there’ll be some that recognize their value and bring more attention to them.

I could be wrong, and that could be biased wishful thinking. Though that’s how I potentially foresee it unfolding...

You are absolutely right that now is a great time to post quality content. A fire was lit under my ass recently too when I realized we were already at levels I thought we wouldn't reach until the SMT's were implemented.

There is still a lot of potential because this is such a great platform, SMT's haven't yet been implemented and the general market trend should continue to float all boats.

I'm actually hoping this latest crypto correction trends sideways for awhile so we all have more time to accumulate more Steem before the next big lift off. -Matt

Well the decrease of SBD has got people all worked up and probably a chance to make the most of it and post like you've said.

The real question I see is; to be in SBD or SP. on one hand we have liquidity to take advantage of other offerings faster (like SMTs, etc.), or gain more from postings.

Mainstream attention? It's already happening. There is better awareness now. The world is going crypto. It's indeed a suitable time to rake in the rewards!

Money follows money on steemit, and fresh accounts won't do much to change the ecosystem of steemit unless those users stay and their participation is weighted in a manner that encourages user retention. Right now there's little to no incentive for great writers to write on steemit if they can't find the right monetary support or have fat stacks of their own to boost their profile, and steemit needs to avoid continuing as a pay to win game if it's to be taken seriously as a platform.

People buying in near highs just lets early investors cash out, a stable price and a system that rewards quality authors in the long run will benefit everyone if we're to compete with other platforms and carve out a niche of our own. Right now the main appeal to new users is "make fat gains" and old users is "use your fat gains to make more fat gains" and neither trajectory is healthy if a lasting community is to be fostered. Limiting new users to 10 votes a day is a form of free to play, pay to win, artificial restriction that encourages new users to buy steam power and limits their engagement with the site to upvoting ten times a day, throwing out as many garbage comments as possible in the hopes of getting an upvote, and calling it a day. No offense to them as I understand that many people just have a cell phone and limited communication skills in the languages of choice of most whales. On-site language translation might at least help with this aspect of filler comments and give them a chance to actually participate in conversations in a meaningful way.

Sincere users will be deterred and only those who find it profitable to get a few cents here and there a day will use the platform if their costs of living are low enough, and this trickle-down system of self-voting and voting for whales is a serious threat to the growth of the platform in countries where that level of bare-bones economic activity isn't worthwhile in and of itself. People use other sites without such monetary incentives because of the social links they already have and maintain, so it's not that baffling that daily user count hasn't increased at all before the price surge here. Like if people go to twitter to have a laugh and share funny comments with their friends and that's all that draws them there, then what does steemit have to offer for the ordinary person? It needs to be the best at something, and other than the steemoola I'm not sure it's on the right path to finding its place yet.

For me, Steemit provides inspiration and community, along with material gains. It allows challenges, creative outlets, and model for giving and not just taking. I, personally am on Steemit for many reasons. One of the reasons I spend so much time on here is beacause of the monetary benifits, but I would still spend time on here because of the community if I did not make so much money. However, the aspect of Steem that I love, is that it allows everyone to give to each other and share quality ideas, and THAT is what is truely valuable about this platform.

Totally agree that on site translators would be helpful. Plus, it should be made easier for ordinary people to share! I think that Steemit has a long way to go, but the community here is pretty rad, at least that I have seen, and that is valuable.

I agree that there being so many possible forms of incentives for content creation and viewing is nice, and that contests etc. can have transparent outcomes that are kept track of, as well as easily weeding out any bad players in the ecosystem and identifying those taking advantage of it readily. And it should definitely be easier for users to get on at least the hot page in an organic way, otherwise I don't see how most won't get discouraged about sharing what really interests them.

I think as more communities and niches develop it will be easier for people to gget recognition for their interests and posts. I hope to start a good history and mythology loving community going as I grow!

That's true, specialized communities can't really be formed when user numbers are this thin, it'll be refreshing to see topics like that find an audience in the future! I feel like now it's just the same five or so topics hitting the frontpage over and over again.

Yeah seems to be, the subgroups wont have a community if we dont build it though!

On the same train with you! Feeling the fire under my own ass to keep posting quality content. I had a sharp realization of this since getting on as the prices have already fluctuated so much.

I’m definitely doing abundant research and taking a portion of my sbd earnings and putting them in other cryptos. Diversity!

This is apt for the situation now as we are about to go full blown mainstream. The opportunity is ripe for the taking. Happy to be here when it is about to kick off, never regrets what should have been if I was here in 2016 or something of that nature. It had been and is still is an awesome adventure here. Thanks for sharing.

Great post that will hopefully motivate others to write on Steemit more often!
I have disciplined myself to write one post day for all of 2018 - a challenge that I plan to stick to as much as I can, as well as put out two posts some day if possible. I am in the midst of putting together a 30 day post planner (which I am happy to share with anyone via email or google drive etc if anyone wants it).

The price of the SBD really has helped boost rewards, and hopefully those price predictions are correct. My opinion as that the SBD should do quite well in 2018, but I don't have a set price target yet as I have not dived deep into any T.A. of it just yet.

I think it is important to keep writing so that newcomers see just how thriving this platform is with content, and that it really is a community!

Thanks for the great post, let's all keep writing!

I liked what you said "by paying forward the lessons and propagating cultural values that fuel quality contributions and collaborations, we may sow the seeds of outstanding success."

My goal here is to spread positivity/goodvibes 😊

Being a new comer I could see the value in the platform straight away. I think about all the hours I've spent over the last few years building my insta following, when I could have been over here. Need to make up for lost time - keep posting like the crazy. :)

Interesting thoughts, its easy to feel we have 'missed' the boat, even as it sits readily awaiting us in the harbour. - as it were. Many Thanks.

I'm still very new here. I look back at accounts like yours, and I think, "Damn, if only I had started doing this a year ago..." Heh. That being said, and with the caveat of my very limited knowledge, I agree this is still super early, and if/when this takes off for real, I'll be able to look back on my timing as very lucky indeed.

I'm definitely ready to crank out some content. :)

All good point. I joined March 2017 and kicking myself for not really getting into it until end of 2017! XP

I can certainly see that sitting here in a year's time and thinking about how much I could have done, and how much further ahead I might have been ... is possible if I drop the ball.
I can also see the possibilities for my family members if they embraced it, and a year wasted if they don't.

Really good points @rok-sivante and you are right. Steem it up!

Fantastic read @rok-sivante and thank you for sharing. I am new to this platform currently as I heard of the peak in SBD and I am slamming out what I believe is decent quality content on things I enjoy writing about.

I completely agree with your point that it is crucial to flood steemit with quality content so that once the word gets out and it gets some more mainstream attention we all have our best hats on and smiles on our faces :)

Thanks again for sharing and it has certainly motivated me to continue sharing my writing and engaging with this great community!

spot fucking on brooooooooooooooooooo

I'm actually scared of the 3rd thing you stated out. Steemit seems to be perfect now. It is a bit messy and it lacks perfect UX, but the 500k people here right now seems to be enough. It's a community that you can really take a hold of and get to know a lot of people here.
When the boom here hits, well.. there will be much more people with talent left unknown. It will be a mess.

But then again I am waiting for more people to join. I just hope they brign good content and not spam with them. :)

Incredibly, this is really a very useful input for me.
Can I translate and share it on my post @only.home? so that my friends in Indonesia also read it.
Thanks @rok-sivante

Yes! That’d be great!

I just came across a translated article that was done amazingly by splitting the two languages in columns side-by-side:

https://steemit.com/ita/@mcassani/l-arte-della-musica-dalle-origini-filosoficamente-the-art-of-music-from-the-origins-philosophically-ita-eng#@rok-sivante/re-mcassani-re-rok-sivante-re-mcassani-l-arte-della-musica-dalle-origini-filosoficamente-the-art-of-music-from-the-origins-philosophically-ita-eng-20180123t021432459z

Would be great to see more such translations done like this.

I don’t know the markdown code to do so - hopefully this author will be able to find where he learnt it and share. If you could do the same, that’d be awesome. but if not, just a direct translation into Indonesian would be great too... 🙏

Okey, thats so nice,... i will translating your post just by now. And then would post it this early night, thank you @rock-sivante. Hope you support it.

What a food for thought!!

Firstly , I would appreciate your efforts breaking down Your idea and advice for everyone who can patiently read through.

Investment has ever been one of the major step to success. So when a well calculation is done on a particular course, and if the analysis gives go ahead, then the next thing is to invest so as to reap excess tomorrow. In my recent post I gave a tip on that.

Your ideology and forecast must have taken you time.

By leading through example, others may learn and be inspired to up their games and step up to serve this growing communities in the ways it's most needed and appreciated.

You personally @rok-sivante as an example: You are good example to learn from and follow up, Your quality works has been excellent, part of which has been of Inspiration to my Steemit life.

You will always be top of my list @rok-sivante.

Thanks for sharing this post.
