I recently started a series of posts with the goal of developing a dialogue within the Steemit community of ways to improve the platform, especially as it relates to new/minnow users. These ideas will be important before we transition into the next phase of Steemit, mass adoption.
Today, I would like to discuss the idea of having a private messaging system within steemit.com. I think this would be a great addition to Steemit to allow users to connect without having to use third party platforms. What are your thoughts on this??

Yeah this would definitely help out as the community grows.
I think it would also be a decent idea to add a filter system to the posts you've already created. I sometimes feel like I have some decent posts that get looked over and basic posts that get more attention.
Maybe it's the day of the week or the time of day I post it...or maybe just a combo.
But unless I link back to that post at one point it can get lost in the myriad of other posts and it would be kind of cool to be able to filter out posts by keyword or date or highest upvote, etc. just on a particular persons steemit page.

PM's, tag filtering, friends list would all be good to have.

I agree that a private message system would be a great feature to have. It's not vital as Reddit doesn't have one and it's very successful. Nonetheless it would be a nice feature. I seem to remember hearing that in the next hard fork the three key things they were working on were 1)a mobile app 2)easier on boarding of new users and 3)a private messaging system
Rasail idea is very good for easy communication
And also if there is a way to work symbols and whispers inside the comment as a property like Facebook
The situation will be elegant and our best task is to improve the site in a practical way before it is material
zappl.com will have private messaging.
