Conspiracy theorists seem much more prevalent on this site than the others. I understand steemit is new, but I still find it strange. Is there a reason for this?

Bitcoin is pretty popular among those with less than average faith in the government, on top of that most even remotely questionable youtube channels were hit hard with the demonetization stuff going on so they are looking for greener pastures right now.
That said things here don't seem to be filtered out either so its more apparent than it would be if you were seeing what friends posted/youtubes recommended lists. /Best I've got. :)
Conspiracy theorists?
A conspiracy theory is an conspiracy theory on his own.
That word is a hoax to label critical thinkers and to avoid there questions.
Steemit created a platform where everyone openly can share his mind or opinion, its up to the viewer to dismiss claims or assumptions.
Or you can avoid everything and label them as conspiracy theorists.
The choice is yours here on Steemit!
So what would I refer to them as? The Illuminati is a conspiracy theory.
You cant label anyone, everyone got a different story, arguments and intentions.
Impossible to label them in one word.
The Illuminati is actually a real historical secret society that was formed in 1776, the same year the US declared it's independence. This is accepted history by mainstream scholars, so.. Uhh.. The Illuminati is not a conspiracy theory, it's a real group that existed historically. Some people believe it does still exist, that you could call a conspiracy theory cause most scholars do not believe they are still around.. Though that doesn't mean there aren't plenty of real secret societies out there.
During one of the US presidential elections we had two admitted members of Skull and Bones run against each other! Kerry and Bush. In fact, the deeper you get the more you find out how real a lot of this stuff is. Some stuff cannot be proven, I won't claim I know the answers to JFK's assasination or 9/11 or whatever.. But you can historically and now modernly prove the existence of many different secret groups. They have admitted their existence, even if they keep their meetings and rituals secret.. And then there's the secret groups we don't even know about.. But.. Anyways. Just thought I'd add a lil perspective.
Yeah I do know that it was a real thing, I was more meaning the whole ideas surrounding the Illuminati. Plus I'm not saying it isn't true, but it is technically a conspiracy theory.
A likely reason is that SteemIt is censorship resistant. Other sites may delete such material.
Yeah - thats harder than all in internet. The more I use steemit I am not sure we need censorfree-internet as it seems the stupids are so clever to register here :-)
