I keep bumping into comments by @truffelpig, and for as far as I can see it's doing a great job.

one question: can the bot be summoned?
The reason I ask is because earlier today I replied to a comment made by the bot, onwhich I got a reply that the post had already been upvoted...
Was that an automated reply or a manual reply?

    That was automated. If you start a comment with @trufflepig, the bot is summoned (within about 24 hours).
