I have been on Steemit for around 5-6 months and I have come across hundreds of posts up until this point. I have even been composing my own articles with no achievement. Going through the top rated articles made it clear to me that my posts were not at a similar level.

Steemit users (particularly whales) values unique articles. You ought to write on a subject that you know about. Love reading books ? Write about it. Have you a passion or hobby ? Write about it, don't hesitate. Replicating articles from different sources or on the first page wont acquire you any earning on your post.
2. Use Captivating Titles,

I'm not a native English speaker, but I don't think my english is that bad. In order to write a good post on Steemit you should have good knowledge of English. My advice on this, is to keep practicing good english. As we all know, Practice makes perfect. Avoid grammar mistakes and use simple language. After 10-15 posts i think your English will improve.
4. Make use of the right image(s),
Images also constitute a big part of Steemit posts. Check the top articles on the feed page yourself and see how each of them has 2-3 images or even more. Find 8-10 images that can be used in your post and decide which of them are the most appropriate. Don't overuse them and don't forget to link the source if the images are not yours.

You should carefully make use of 5 appropriate tags for your post. Don't put random tags, choose the right ones.
