Perhaps; but, if we stay mindful that the survival of the Steem community relies on income-driven resources, the generic blogs of planktons/minnows will only represent a small slice of the earnings pie, no matter the platform.
Everything is in the baby-steps mode; and it will be interesting to see in a few years the success of BTS, EOS, et al.

For mid term success of the Steemit platform quality is critical. Focusing on wealth inflation will kill it. Pure speculation: probably the key reason Dan left Steemit.
