Getting Steemit out there

in #steemit9 years ago

I'm doing my best to make people aware that Steemit exists. I posted about my fake news checker idea in the group for a BBC World Service technology show and got some good responses. I don't know how many of them clicked through, but it's a group who are interested in new technology, so I hope some followed it up. There are 9676 people in that group.

Then yesterday I tweeted my post about the guitar show and tagged the organisers. They re-tweeted it to a potential audience of 1728 people.

I'm not going to mis-sell Steemit by claiming it can make you rich, but we can get it out there as an alternative to ad-based sites that may censor what you post. Steemit is still very small really with only a few thousand active users (and lots of bots). If it can scale up to hundreds of thousands then it could take off.

Steem on!

I'm Steve, the geeky guitarist. Get free cryptocurrency at Grantcoin, Moondoge, MoonBitcoin or Eobot. You can earn from chat using WowApp. Trade crypto on Livecoin Exchange. If you use these I get a small reward. You can recruit others to do the same.

sharing in fb groups is an awesome idea because a lot of ppl usually see them if the group has tons of followers, great work!

I hope some of them notice that the post has some monetary value and get curious to know more. Just getting the name out there helps as most have not even heard of it.

I'm trying to share it as well. In Italy we are few users, it seems

I share some music posts on fb groups, and often I get positive feedback

You set a good example. It's nice the Guitar Show retweeted your post.
