There are plenty of issues with steemit, but I'm getting good engagement from many of my followers. I make a nice little amount, so I'm not complaining too much. We have to persuade new users to act in the interest of all and not just dash for cash

I think that's important right there... somewhere in recent weeks it seems like the focus of Steemit has switched from being a social content platform to being a "coin dispenser," like some kind of magic online vending machine. We've lost sight of the idea that we have to put something IN, in order to get something OUT.
