Two thousandaire

in #steemit9 years ago (edited)

It's almost 4 months since I joined Steemit (thanks to @the-bitcoin-dood) and I've just about reached 2000 Steem Power. I have a few Steem Dollars too, but I'm keeping that for buying stuff. We're actually earning SBD again now that the price has stabilised. Averaging $80 a month is not too bad for something I just play with, and it could be more in coming months as I hardly made anything to start with.

This takes me into the top 2000 (by value) on Steemwhales.

In a few days the planned hardfork should happen which will bring a few changes to how Steemit will work and Steem allocated. We'll be able to power down much quicker, but I don't plan to. I'm less sure of what effect the other changes would have for me, but I hope they will improve confidence in this cool site. I don't know how long it's going to be considered a beta. That badge may put some people off joining.

Steemit is at least getting some coverage on Cryptocoins News, Finance Magnates, CoinDesk, Coin Telegraph and, the big one, in Rolling Stone (although as with more headlines with a question the answer is 'probably no'). This all helps to raise the profile. I'd like to see it reported on the BBC or Wired. I hope Dan and Ned will do some more interviews at some point.

2017 is going to be an exciting year for Steemit. I think it will be make or break. Sites that bubble along for years are not likely to suddenly make it big. Steady growth is what we need.

Steem on!

Congratulations and I feel like the potential is just starting to show, and everyone is working together in a more productive way. :)

There's lots of good and enthusiastic people here. Lots of potential with this technology

Congratulations, you are doing great!

What the changes will bring ... ? I don't know. Maybe a rise of Steem price. This way your SP stash could be immediately more valuable :)

Quicker power down? Well, at this time we are all powering up, I guess. So why shoud we start powering down next week? I don't think so :)

Keep on pushing. Good luck!

The price is academic if you just have SP and the whole thing was designed to reduce speculation. There will be those who want a quick buck, but I'm playing the long game

True. The price is only important when you sell or buy. We will stand our ground and power on :)

Congratulations on joining the +2000 Club. Stephen

Thanks. A while back I wondered if I'd get there this year, but there's still a whole month to go. Onwards and upwards!

Keep up the great work. Stephen

Congrats I also hope more good news to come and hope this hard fork helps stablization.

I think it's all a bit of an experiment. I can see that the buys really thought about how to implement a new currency, but they are adapting to how it has been used.

@steevc, what a journey it has been. You will be a dolphin soon, and what great dolphin you will be. Congrats on your achievement. Steem On Dude!

Cheers. Maybe I'll be a mackerel at least. I don't think I'd consider myself a dolphin until a vote from me can show a visible difference to a post. I'm enjoying the journey and a lot of that is down to cool people like you!

@steevc, glad you're in my community. Thank you for the continuing support my friend.

Congratulations, @steevc! Too bad we can't get more ex-TSU folks here. Knowing about your success would help. Your consistency in posting has been really admirable. Here's to your Steemit future.

Cheers. I try to keep posting something each day, but we need to maintain quality. I just like starting conversations. I know some Tsu people are using things like 8app, but that's not my sort of thing.

Congrats, @steevc! You're doing great and have a really good rep too. :) I think with the improvements and with Busy.org just around the corner, 2017 is going to be a really good year for all of us.

I hope to see other cool developments. Exciting times
