The allure of getting paid for writing is what attracts many to the world of blogging. Setting up a profitable blog has many hurdles, but steemit seemed to navigate around most of those. Once you get the hang of steemit the platform is a very powerful tool and its future potential is unbridled.
That being said, starting out on this new platform can be very intimidating. Here are some tips to help you through the process:

Genuine Engagement Pays Off
Spamming up votes and pasting comments seems like a logical means to getting paid on steemit. I'm sure it will pay off with enough time invested, but taking the time to actually engage with someone's content, writing sincere replies, and building a rapport with them can pay off exponentially in the long run. Don't forget that at its core this is meant to be a social platform.

Its All About Power Baby
The options of Steem, Steem Power, and SBD can be kind of confusing at first. Steem is the actual coin of teh platform, and can be traded fr bitcoin, power is a useful tool for the platform only, and SBD is a sort of regulatory tool to estimate values in relation to the USD. By this assessment, a profit minded person might think steem is thr key to success as it has the most liquidity. The real key here is Power though. Put al you can into the Steem power, because then your actions on the platform actually have merit and you can start earning real money.

Take Your Time
Like anything worth doing in this world, its takes time to do it right. It might be slow going at first, especially if you aren't "buying" in per say, but if you stick with it steemit has the potential to change your blogging habits for the better.

Buy In At Least A Little
Climbing the ladder from new user to influential steemit contributor is long journey. Without buying and steem initially this journey will take a ridiculous amount of time. No one is saying you need to invest thousands of dollars into steem, just a little bit to help you hit the ground running. Things will quickly start to snowball if you're using the platform effectively.

Have Fun
While the crypto aspect of steemit sets it apart, it still shares a lot in common with other social platform. And like those other platforms, genuine content shines. If you are clearly not enjoying yourself, or just copying and posting hacked up articles in an attempt earn some cash, people are going to notice and will not engage with your content. You need to write about things that excite you, and others will see that spark.

Good luck out there.
