RE: !WARNING - STEEMIT - MODIFICATION IN THE STEEM POWER -50% - WARNIGN!

in #steemit6 years ago (edited)

There have been no changes to rewards. Changes to rewards requires a hard fork or a consensus of top witnesses to change the bias.

The consensus on bias is still 0% and there have been no hard forks in a long time (4-5 months?). So nothing could have changed.

Maybe there is a bug in the condenser (steemit.com) that displays the rewards inaccurately or you don’t fully understand how rewards are calculated. I can’t check either right now as I am on a mobile phone but nothing has changed.

I thank you for your interjection.
This post worried me and made me think about selling the STEEM I just bought with SBD.
What is the ultimate source of demand for SBD?
I know it is used for bots but the bot owners sell them.
What are they used for eventually?

The demand for SBD is almost exclusively created by bots right now, but when it is a stable peg it is created by third-party services like storefronts and other services integrated with the platform.

I wrote ultimate demand because the bots are just an intermediate stage.
They do not use SBDs, they sell them.
For example Steem has ultimate uses like voting on posts, voting for witnesses and bandwidth.
Steem is a currency, but not just a currency.
What about SBD?
Storefronts and services that get them and sell them are not an ultimate source for demand either, because they only use them as a currency, and not as tangible goods.
In contrary I mentioned STEEM which has some tangible use.

SBD is just a debt instrument

And Steem is not?
If Steem is useful and SBD is not, SBD is supposed to go to 0, not just 1 USD.
And while USD does go to 0, I meant that SBD should go there even faster, assuming it has no use and is inflationary.

SBD is designed for commerce.

You should check well. According to steemnow buildawhale has 1,836,059,474 SP, and with a vote of 100% grants $ 507.97 when in your post about a great power leads to a great responsibility you published a little less SP for $ 800. Then something has changed? I do not know much about steemit, but I analyze what happens around me, @ipromote with a vote of 28% gave me $ 6.2, really friend. If it has not been modified by the witnesses or steemit then they are modifying us from another party, but that there has been modification that is a reality.
https://steemnow.com/@buildawhale go ahead.

You are missing a key piece of the puzzle. Your vote worth isn’t based on the price of steem it is based on the portion your vote takes up from the reward pool.

As more people exercise their voting power, your vote is worth less. That’s why when someone posts for $500 10x a day it is a big deal.

You're right, it's something I did not know, so it's not an official modification, it's caused by that. It seems that then we are having many posts every day with very high values. In any case, it is something that is affecting us all. Thanks for the clarification.
