Steemit Needs Groups!

The Steem blockchain needs a way for people to form groups. We have Dtube now attempting to compete with Youtube. There's steemit.com and busy.org to try and compete with blogging platforms and other social media. I think there are other attempts to make a twitter type. There needs to be a way to form groups. Groups are the main thing that keeps bringing me back to facebook.

One type of group I am in is a charity. They organize the schedule through that. If the charity members were upvoting their own posts and people in their communities started to as well, it could become a potential fund raising mechanism.

Other types of groups that would benefit from being on the steem block chain are nature identification groups. OR basically any niche focused group that has newbs and experts. For example many people in the nature groups I am in will post a plant or animal and then experts will help identify said creature. It would be wonderful if I could tip helpful responses to make it more worth their time to answer more questions.

As it is I just see random articles and ones of people that I have followed. The ability to easily form groups might take things to another level network wise. It might even be a way to lower the influence of bots on the trending page because various people could spend their upvotes within their groups. People would probably find ways to exploit a group function somehow too, so this may not turn out to be true.

Another example is, what if events were able to be created? Then the popular events could be upvoted and maybe give event organizers and all that participate a little steem.

I also have groups where it is a bunch of friends or family, these are usually secret groups. In these groups we plan things and share stuff that we otherwise don't want the rest of the world to know. A common use of a secret group is to grow an influencer's audience, it would be nice if the Steem ecosystem had a similar function in order to compete.

In conclusion, I really think that a group function would help our community grow closer bonds to those we most connect with. It would help people have another reason to interact within the steem ecosystem and keep them there once built. Similar to how the group function is keeping many on the facebooks.

I have no idea how to build what I am talking about, that's why I have chosen to send this into the ether.

What do you think about any of these ideas?

Thank you for reading.
