Buying Steem Power (SP) will help you to gain more voting power and it is a type of investing in your account to make it more valuable. Its value is same as the value of Steem SBD but it is something that can help you to increase the amount of your vote. You can move it back when you want to but it takes time to convert it again to steem called Power Down.
Convert Your Steem Dollars to Steem Power
The most easiest way to go into your built in Wallet that is available in your profile and click on buy Steem or Steem power button.
