The bonus STEEM reward and some question about it

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemians!

Have you also noticed the bonus STEEM in your author rewards from this past few days? I noticed it too, but I think it's still in an on going process, since it last only for a few days and I haven't already received my bonus STEEM author reward within this past few hours. Maybe, it's because the Steemit team are just doing a dry run about it, and they are planning to add that in the system very soon, or it's not fully functional at this moment, so they are trying to quickly work on it.

Despite of that bonus STEEM rewards, I also have some confusion about the Steemit's reward system. I joined here in Steemit, last December 2017 and I'm still not aware about the author's reward system. I have no idea on how the Steemit's system compute the Steem Power author rewards, since we are allowed to choose on what type of reward we want to receive, we can choose from either Power up 100%, Default 50%/50% or Decline payout. The default 50%/50% doesn't seems to have the right computation, the ratio of SP and SBD rewards isn't proportional. Maybe, it's because the system are just trying to balance the rewards system, to prevent an exploits or excessive rewards from using bid bots, since we can still have a profit or some few losses in those bid bots, at this current reward system, while increasing the Steem Power reward will going give us a too much excessive reward.

Yeah, I noticed it too. At the same time, I wasn't sure whether or not it was trying to tell me that I'm bad at math ;)

As far as I understand, since the SBD is pegged to USD, you get higher sbd than SP because sp payout is as per prevailing market price.
So example, you have an author reward of $4 @ 50/50 split, you will get 2 SBD and the steem power equivalent to $2 as per current price.

You can correct me if I am wrong. 😅

I also have no idea, but I got your point mam. Maybe they are using the old and out dated price of SP in our reward system, but the worth of permanent SP is equivalent to 1 STEEM at this moment, which is almost the same price as SBD. :)

Search me, Wagun. But you did get some nice steem bonuses. I didn't get anywhere near this much. I don't use bots at all.

Sure, I saw that you also have a good rewards too. You should try using bid bot sometimes, it's the best, especially when you want to put your content in trending page.

I don't know much about them but I have heard that sometimes you pay more than you get in returns. I am more interested in building SP than a reputation score and would hate to be duped. Curie favored me with a visit once and so I have been on the trending page for poetry. I got a nice payout on that post but it did little for the steady traffic to my blog. I think overall bot owners are the ones that truly benefit from bots. At this point, I am not in favor of most of them. I would like to see more authentic curation and the trending page be about actual views and likes. Botting appears to have a small number of people benefiting greatly and leaving the majority with scraps. But maybe I am old fashion or not understanding something.

Yes, it's true, using bid bot has also a down side and losing some profit is one of those sometimes, but sometimes you will have a profit in using it too, since there are some bid bot who return up to 270% of your bids, and it's because their voting power are varying according to the users who make their bids in the current round. If the bid bot has a worth of $500 each upvote, and you are the only one who made a bid, no matter how much you bid, you will get the 100% of that $500 worth of upvote, it only means that the worth of upvote you can get from those bot are divided to the current bidder at the same round. That's why checking the bot tracker platform is one of the best way to determined the return before using it.

While the good benefits you can get from using those bid bots is the chance to get a good exposure in the trending page, if you are willing to make a good bid then, I'm sure that it will surely leads some good traffic and more potential followers or even some whales in your profile.

Which bots do you like?

they are all the same almost, but you can check steembottracker, to see the current bids and the time of their next voting turn. You can also check all of the current bidders in a particular round

Thank you, wagun:)

yes I noticed that too

nice one mam at I'm not the only one haha
