RE: PROOF that "follow for follow" does not work on Steemit

in #steemit8 years ago

You have a great point! I think that flooding your home page with content you don't care about is hurting this community because you most likely won't be able to find content that interests you, resulting in you not commenting or upvoting content. I do however, think it's important for minnows to stick together and follow on another because if a undervalued posts gets a lot of upvotes, it can attract a bigger fish that might upvote, resteem, or follow that author. I know the power of this because a whale followed me that way! What I do is follow new authors who I think are undervalued (which is almost every minnow on this site) and try to add some value to their content by leaving constructive criticism or encouragement in their comments. I then ask for them to check out my page and look at my most recent post, and if they think it's quality consider following me. It's a little different than following for a follow, but I feel a little better by giving them the option to follow me only if they think I am contributing good content.
