So, I obviously doubt this can or will ever be implemented but I think it would be a really nice feature to have.
Everyone is complaining about the trending and hot pages, how you can only get there using upvote bots, how a minnow can never get there organically no matter how much work he is putting into his writing.
What if we could see which posts received upvotes from upvote bots and which didn't. We can just mark the ones that used upvote bots with a red asterisk and the ones that did not receive any with a green one.
Here is an example.
Upvote bots will still be able to push post towards hot or trending, nothing will chance that but at least now people can choose to help someone who tries to get their upvotes organically.
I think a lot of people on Steemit would like to support writers who don't spend money on upvote bots, are posting quality content and are trying to grow naturally.
Sure, you might say that you can just go to a post and see if it received upvotes from bots but let's face it, in today's world ain't nobody got time for that. And that small asterisk can come really handy.
I don't blame people for using upvote bots.
I used them myself as a minnow to get some votes because I was tired of seeing only one vote per post (my own) and there is a chance I will use them in the future. All I am saying is that for me at least it would be great to have a feature like this on Steemit.
What do you guys think about it?

Definitively a very useful feature if implemented.
As it is right know, I feel Steem as a ''value incubator''. With a option like this asterisc, we would be able to boost the 'organic writers' as you said.
PD: I'm using upvote bots for the same reason of everyone. But I believe that is the way to go long-term.
Regards :)
Unfortunately, I don't think something like this would be implemented. One has to hope though.
I think some variation of your idea would be really beneficial for Steemit.
Even as a new user, I'm noticing the crazy amount of bots everywhere and it's kind of deflating as a writer knowing that you have such a small shot at making the trending page because you're competing with all these people using bots.
Even as a reader, finding good content to read is not as easy because it's hard to differentiate between what's popular because the content is good or if their account is just hyped by using a bunch of bots
Yep. From minnow to whales, everyone seems to be using bots.
