How to raise our children

The desire of every mother and father to want to give the best to their children is well known. Many postpone their arrival exactly because they want to work hard before and can supply all the material needs of the child.

But what many parents ignore is that material conditions are necessary, but what is really essential for children is the construction of character and personality. The parents were given by God an authority to institute their children early on the paths they must walk (Proverbs 22: 6). That is the secret to successful parenting.

The Bible is full of advice for parents, but we separate 10 that will surely make a huge difference in the lives of children. Read:

1: Take care of your own communion with God

Children are great spectators of parents. You can say what you want, but in the end, it is what parents do that counts. Timothy, disciple of the apostle Paul and an important figure in the spreading of the Gospel, had a faith that was fruit of what existed in his mother, and that he observed.

Paul mentions this in one of his letters addressed to him: "... Because I have in mind the sincere faith that is in you, which lived first in your grandmother Loida and in your mother Eunice, and I am sure that in you too." 2 Timothy 1: 5

None of the tips below will succeed if your children do not see you practicing what you teach.

2: Do not be afraid to discipline them

"He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him diligently." Proverbs 13:24

When the Bible mentions the rod and the discipline, under no circumstances is it talking about torture, but it is about showing your child the consequences of bad attitudes.

3: Teach him freedom responsibly

"But the spoiled child will shame his mother." Proverbs 29:15

Fearful of being outdated, cruel, or even having an oppressive education, many parents let their children do what they think best. But what discernment does a child have to know what is best for him?

4: Take advantage of every opportunity to teach your children the love of God

"And these words that I am commanding you today will be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and you shall speak of them when you are in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. "Deuteronomy 6: 6,7

Talking about God's love should not be restricted only to church cults, but all the moments that you were with your children should be the materialization of God's love and protection.

5: Do not be inconsistent with them:

"Fathers, do not exasperate your children, lest they become discouraged." Colossians 3:21

Incoherence is a sign of injustice. If you say one thing and do another, your child will not want to accept it. It is from this irritation that many children rebel against their own parents.

6: The value of obedience

"Behold, I present before you this blessing and curse: blessing, if you will obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I prescribe for you today, and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, and you will depart. of the way that I command you today, to go after other gods that you have not known. "Deuteronomy 11: 26-28

Children who manage to obey their parents, whom they see, are very likely to also obey the true God. If your children see that you obey God and know the positive consequences of that, they will also have pleasure in obeying it.

7: Teach them to make good choices

"Do not be deceived; God can not be mocked: for whatever a man sows, that will also reap. "

Your children need to understand that every action generates a reaction. And that a way to make good choices in life is thinking about the consequences of them.

8: Be a coach, but also the most encouraging of your child

"See that I command you to make an effort and be brave; Do not fear or be dismayed, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. "Joshua 1: 9

Nothing has more weight than the words of the parents. How many are not children with great potential who simply do not believe in it because their parents insist on always highlighting their weaknesses and weaknesses? Great men and women were forged with the incentive of the parents even in unfavorable conditions. Therefore, be careful what you say to your child.

9: Faith to win and stay

"But without faith it is impossible to please God; for it is necessary that he who comes to God believes that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. "Hebrew 11: 6

Teach them to use faith to overcome difficulties. Many turn to natural means in the face of problems, since they possess a powerful weapon, which is faith. It is necessary to use faith at all times, in any circumstance. Teaching them to use it is the greatest teaching that a father can pass on to his son.

10: The fear of God

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." Proverbs 9:10

Nobody manages to be faithful to God if he does not fear Him, that does not mean to live in terror with fear for what He can do to Him, but to respect and reverence who He is. That is the secret for their children to grow up having intimacy with God and not having him as a distant God.
