Goals
Are ideas of the future or desired results that a person or a group of people envisions, plans and commits to achieve. People endeavor to reach goals within a finite time by setting deadlines.
It is a purpose or an aim
That is according to wikipedia. One has to envision the idea. It must be born in the mind. You think deaply about the envisioned idea.
Next one has to plan. Specific steps must be put into place to achieve the goals. Questions like how, when, where and what ought to be answered. So proper plans must be put in place on how to execute the goals.
Goals must be achievable, measurable and specific. Ambiguous goals are hard to achieve. Ensure to be very objective in your goal setting.
One who tends to be successful in life must learn to set goals. Goals are guidelines to success. They happen to be site maps that lead you to achieving what was first just an idea. The map will guide your steps. You will know whether you are on the right track or not. Goals are a great compass that lead you along.
Normally it is good at first to have a big picture of what you expect to achieve. One can further subdivide the goals into small daily, weekly or monthly goals. Whatever the time period, the small goals should be projected to the yearl or ten-year goal
One should lastly commit themselves into achieving those goals. One may fail at times but you sit to analyze why you failed. Those reasons of failure should be pointers to correct where you erred.
Resolutions
a firm decision to do or not to do something.
the quality of being determined or resolute.
the action of solving a problem or contentious matter.
A resolution happens to be a firm decisions. Normally, people make resolutions at the beginning of the year.
Firm decisions are also guidelines. One should be firm and never sway from these resolutions.
