Juan and Raúl

source

Little Baby was a five-year-old boy, his blond hair fell in curls down his back and dressed him like a prince, with knee-length shorts, a sailor's blouse and silk stockings. His family loved him very much and he had learned to love others. However, he was no saint: he once broke a valuable vase while chasing his pampered cat. He liked to spend long hours with the employees of his mansion and listen to his stories of Africa, he also used to make friends with the simple children of the street, to whom he gave his shoes. His best friend was his cousin Raul, a small orphan who had dark hair, wore very common clothes and did not wear silk stockings.

During the holidays, his parents took him on a trip to Paris and also invited Raúl. They met great houses and museums, went to school for the blind and visited Mom's uncle, a skinny and solemn man named Don Pomposo.

He was very unfriendly, but since Baby's mother was very rich, he gave him all the attention. When Don Pomposo saw the children, he approached Juan, held out his hand, carefully removed the hat and gave him some sticky kisses. Although Raúl was well dressed, Don Pomposo did not even greet him. The boy felt very sad and sank into an armchair with his hat in his hands.

Don Pomposo got up from his red sofa and said to Baby: "Look, look, what I have kept for you: this is something that costs a lot of money and I give it to you so that you know that I am your best friend". The man took his heavy key ring, opened a closet and handed him a beautiful golden sword. With the help of a belt he placed it and asked him to look in the mirror.
Baby saw his own image and caught a glimpse of Raul's reflection, his face very sad, as if he were going to die. That night the children rested in the same room. Raul slept soundly, but Baby could not sleep thinking about Raul, his playmate, adventures and mischief. Raul had no mom, no fancy clothes, no aunts to give him valuable gifts. Despite this, he knew how to be the most faithful and shared friend of all. Distressed by what happened at Don Pomposo's house, Bebé got up and walked carefully to the dressing table to make no noise. He took the beautiful sword, picked it up very slowly and placed it on the side of Raul's pillow so that the next day, as soon as he woke up, he would find the surprise of the brilliant gift that the best of friends deserved.

Reasoning questions.

And what do you think…?

• How did Baby learn to love others?

• Was the friendship shown by Don Pomposo himself and his mother sincere?

• Why did you despise little Raul?

• What is more important: the value of a material object or the deep affection between people?

The story you write with the respective questions, are appropriate to teach love, friendship and generosity.
Excellent exercise to apply both at home and at school.

That's right, friend, we will not tire of telling the world that we can be better citizens by educating ourselves and putting into practice principles that dominate our being, as educators and as students.

Great post, will make a good comprehension exercise for one of my students..hehe

I love that you have been useful, friend @alvinauh
