However, on this occasion, I would like to share the story of how me and some of the educators from my school spent time having fun with our students and got to know them a bit better. We enjoyed some good team building and had quite an exciting time when we went on a vacation of sorts together.
Recently, some of the teachers from the school I work at organized an outing for the students. Both the teachers and the students had been working hard and it was time for a break, we needed to rejuvenate our minds! It was definitely time for us to celebrate our success!

My students agreed to take a trip to the river, the river they were headed for was the river next to my house. In addition to their vacation, they also visited my family. An intimate emotional relationship is not it?

So, we all headed off to a little river situated next to my home. The point of this excursion was not only to relax and have fun though. Spending casual time with one’s students is a very good way to bond and connect with them, an important aspect in the educational process.

I am accompanied by Mr. Hasbullah control their activities, the river that became their destination is not deep, just on their own. That makes us very calm, because the possibility for the occurrence of drowning is very little. They are very happy, there is a direct swim and soak in the river.

During our trip the students enjoyed their time swimming and soaking in the shallow river. We also picnicked along the riverbed, a treat for the students, since they are used to eating in a communal kitchen with a monotonous view. This time however, they got to enjoy their lunch while appreciating nature and the view around them. The outing was finished off with glasses of local black coffee, which we all enjoyed, and a visit to my family who live next to the river, making it a personal trip for all.

To add to the fun, my students also enjoyed having their photos taken and many have asked for copies so that they can send them home to their families and keep them as a memento of the enjoyable day we had together. As a teacher, this made me feel very satisfied that they appreciated our little “vacation” together.

Spending casual time with your students can be very beneficial in helping to educate them. It is important for a learner to feel comfortable with their educators and a small personal connection can go along way when transferring knowledge. Just some food for though.

You are welcome

Having down time with students also reminds us why we went into teaching. My favourite time of year is the school camp time when you can get to know children in a different light. I always find the students have better relationships with each other after events like this also.

Good comment

Looks like you had fun! Swimming in a natural river is always fun. Thanks for sharing all these photos. @ironshield

@hubbi, the kids will remember forever remember the connection they had with you as the educator. Well done!

close relationships with students will facilitate the transfer of knowledge. when they are comfortable with us, their attention will be drawn to us. that's where learning culture will be created. thank you @karencarrens

Always good to have fun and enjoy one another's company and get to know your kids better.
Good post and well done @blue-pencil with the editing. Resteeming
