What a great evening everyone!
Typhoon Bashang is still on our place, but despite of that steemit will not be forgotten. This community has been a part of my daily living already. It has been part of my journey. Even I'm already sleepy and tired, I always find time to write and share with you.
Im not good in it, YES! But I know as time flies, I will be better someday and will be called an official blogger.
Today, I am going to share to you one of the strat of a Math teacher...
We, teachers always find time the best strategy for our learners not to get board. We always search for something for them to be motivated to listen and learn. In my subject, Mathematics is a very boring subject esp to those students who don't love numbers. There were lot of them that if they will see a number they will get frustrated and sad because they already set their mind that they can't do it.
So, for my students not to get bored I sometimes make a group activity where everyone should participate.
As you can see in this picture, these group are planning something what to do during the activity.
** The Mechanics of the Activity are the Following:**
- The class will be divided into four groups.
- In each group, there should be a two representatives to sit on the chair in front.
- Questions will be ask for them to answer in 1 minute. In these activity, each student will answer two questions.
- Three points will be given to the group if their representative can get the correct answer.
- The group who will have a greater score will be declared as the winner.
These group of students are really serious to win. They really had a thorough discussion on the possible questions I am going to ask.
Some students also chose to have a peer tutorial so that direct learning will take place. And I am so glad seeing my students esp those who have hard time in Math eager to learn and volunteer theirself to be tutored by those students who are expert on the topic.
Some also wanted to do it solo. There were really lots of kinds of students and how they learn. These kid prefer to study alone because he feel that he can learn more if he will do it alone. And I guess its normal because there were lots of students who are like that.
Let the battle begin.
Before the activity, I see to it that they really understood the mechanics.
They need to raise their tagboards once the teacher will say so. Failure to do it, they will be disqualified on the certain round.
They both feel happiness but nervous. And I guess its a normal feeling once you join a game... What matters most is that they really enjoy the activity and they already forgot that it is a Math subject whom they feel bored.
Teachers really had a complicated task because the future of the child really lies on their hands. It lies on how they handle the child...
