For small children in early childhood education, the days of the week are part of the time where they carry out activities such as going to school or going out for the weekend, their personal experience has given them the tool to know when it is night or day and that time passes.

Sometimes they do not know the names of the days that make up the week and they are not aware that human beings have divided the time into days, weeks and months, it takes instruction and learning about the days, weeks and months of the year, especially if the days have a name like the months.

The recommendation to teach children the names and days of the week and months of the year is the play experience or games, it can also be done through songs or songs, but always with a creative artistic and plastic component that ends in the child's learning.

Strategies to teach days and months

  • Use a roulette wheel: make a roulette wheel that contains the days of the week with some colors and illustrations, something similar to a needle clock.

1

  • Songs: some songs have been conceived to learn both the months of the year and the days of the week, it favors the learning of the days of the week.

2

  • Chained illustrations: a train a worm, drawings that go in parts, one sequenced from another, sequences of the same or similar drawings.
  • Letter soup: activities for primary school children.
  • Coloring drawings: they can also be sequenced so that the child memorizes the days or the months of the year.
  • Calendars: you have to show the children some calendars so they can become familiar with them; Putting one in your room is not a bad idea.
