RE: A glimpse on Nootropics

in #steemiteducation7 years ago (edited)

Hi fun2learn,

I am really interested in shaping body and mind by nutrition. The whole topic of nootropics is fascinating. Although I am hasitating. Some of the nootropics seem a bit close too amphetamins to me and all in all it is hard to get reliable informations.

If anyone wants to start using some, I think he or she should rather contact a specialist than the dealer who has an interest in selling them. Which brings another problem: It is hard to find specialists for that. I am a Chemist and did my phd in organic chemistry synthesising pharmaceutical active substances and I feel rather incompetent in this matter. I think you would need a specialised pharmacist or physician.

A much softer approach to that matter would be to check your nutrition for a deficiency of minerals or amino acids. For example a deficit of zinc could make you tired or to fiew L-Tryptophane can induce depression.

I think, it is important to talk more about this topic, thank you for your nice post.

You are totally right. We should consult a nutritionist or health specialist. In Singapore and many other countries, they usually employ nutritionists to sell their health products so that they can give appropriate advice but there are also those who are promoters or salesman who are just in the shop to sell without a comprehesive health training. It is wise to seek pharmacist or physician's advice too. My article only provides some surface information to raise the awareness of possible brain supplements. It is definitely great if more people write about this topic to provide more knowledge in this area.
