Dismissed (movie): the feud of idealistic teacher and arrogant intelligent student

I just watched the movie "Dismissed". The film told the story of an idealist teacher (David Butler) who taught English literature and an intelligent disciple (Lucas Ward), but was very proud and felt himself most righteous. In the early minutes, this movie amazed me with the setting at school. I thought this film told about the school and the problems of the students. Apparently I approached the truth. The film is almost 80% about school, teacher, and student.

In his class, David Butler taught English literature and unfortunately, the students were less enthusiastic about David Butler's lessons. Some of the questions raised by David Butler are not able to be answered by the students. I think, there is nothing wrong with the method used by David. Class David changed when a transfer student to follow lessons. Lucas Ward is a super intelligent student. David's question can be answered with a systematic and fascinating argument. David was flattered.

When David gave homework to his students, Lucas's essay very thick, almost resembling a dissertation. David was increased awe. Lucas was not an ordinary student. A few days later, David gave B + to Lucas. This is where the conflict in this movie begins. Lucas could not accept the value. He wanted A. They argued and defend their arguments.

After that incident, David's life was disrupted. Lucas tried to intimidate and even threaten David if he did not give A to Lucas. In fact, David gave F to Lucas. Lucas's plan to bring down David was unstoppable. Initially, Lucas leaked David's car tires, causing him to be late for the class. He also changed David's cover letter which caused David to fail to become a lecturer. Lucas also made use of Becca's innocence spreading rumors that David liked Becca.

Everything Lucas did to bring David down did not work. Instead, he killed Becca by pushing her off the roof of the school building. Becca's death put David out of school, because the detective believed Becca's death is related to David. However, David did not remain silent. He searched for evidence of Lucas's involvement. The main proof he found was a camera containing David and Becca recordings. The recording was left to the detective. Lucas soul shaken. He began to desperate and kill David's wife.

Psychologically, this film successfully illustrates the behavior of a child who is unable to accept defeat. He will do various ways to get rid of those who stand in his way. However, what David does is also not justified. A teacher must be kind to all his students, regardless of their social status or intelligence level. Facing a student like Lucas, David should discuss with his colleagues or school principals. David can tell in the forum what caused Lucas to fail in his lessons. A child like Lucas can not be dealt with in ways that make him a psychopath.

I once found a very intelligent student like Lucas. The equation of both is their arrogant attitude. But Lucas too over. Perhaps, their family background that causes the development of a child's psychology is disrupted. Well, here I emphasize that the family is also very important role in the development of child psychology.

Finally, the movie "Dismissed" taught me a few things, and the most important thing is to teach me how to face with a psychopath child! []

Intelligent students are usually the misfits in the four walls of a school or class as the case may be.
