Not sure anyone can ever catch up to the big fish without substantial investment, but I'll do my best to get as close as possible. Stronger my vote is the strong my ability to help those that deserve upvotes for their work vs the crap that clutters the trending pages.
As crazy as it sounds I am hoping steem takes a dip to $1 again so I can grab a 1000 more and then it can jump back up...lol.
You need to pay the bills and it steemit can provide that for you the platform is doing what it was designed to do. You are earning money by simply writing your thoughts and then able to convert that SBD into support for your household. Think about how amazing that really is!
By saying big player, I guess I didn't mean a whale. That's an unattainable goal for 99.9% of us, but I think you will definitely be a powerful influence here (you already are, really), and successful.

It truly is very beneficial right now to be able to support my family with this platform. Not only is it necessary at this time, I enjoy it. We are barely scraping by, but things have a way of working out, and my articles started making more right when I needed them to (not including this one lol)!
