This is a picture of a lion dance. The lion dance is a Chinese customary performed for celebratory reasons. During the Chinese New Year, it is common. Other times of celebratins in which it is performed are opening of a shop of business, celebrating the birth of a human or a god. This one was performing during the Chinese New Year at a Chinese Medical Hall in Toa Payoh, Singapore, during the Chinese New Year season.

Does the food on the floor have a specific meaning ?
There's some auspicious meaning but I don't know the whole story. They are setup for the lion to dance around and pick up and sort of consume as part of the performance.

I think there're basically 2 types. one with custom shoes and one with just any and mostly they wear some kind of sports shoes. guess depending on how much is paid.
