An abandoned well shaft in Jaipur, India -LG G4

While wandering around the "Amber Fort" of Jaipur, India, I peeked my head into this abandoned well shaft. The decades of neglect have left this well devoid of water, allowing it to be claimed by the bats and spiders that still inhabit the area. If not for them, the desolation of the well would be absolute.

While touring the lesser-known island of Koh Mak by motorbike, we stopped near a quiet beach in search of some good photo opportunities. This fishing boat had been stranded in the shallows by the tides long before, it's story is unknown to me. I waded out in thigh deep water to find it stuck on an elevated shelf of sand. Being able to stand in the centre of the vast surrounding waters leaves one feeling as though he is as stranded and alone as the weathered boat itself.

As the photo mission continued on Koh Mak, we came across the old marina. There was no one around anymore to tend the grounds, and the forgotten projects appeared to be left behind to decay. The vessel had begun to be reclaimed by the grasses of the marina grounds, and the unseasonable lack of rain in the previous weeks had dried all life from the area.

The Steemit Robot of desolation

As the day slipped us away, we pushed to the most remote parts of the island in search of desolation. In this empty vastness, we found ourselves face to face with the most desolated of all things. The Steemit Robot's despair filled the space with a heavy atmosphere of sadness. Clearly, he'd had "technical difficulties" while on assignment looking for perfect photos for @jamtaylor's #steemitphotochallenge. His legs were nowhere to be found, and when I tried to communicate with him, I was met only with the repeated phrase "500 internal server error". Confused, I scawled a note on a scrap piece of paper, "Your Robot has been trying to collect content again", addressed it to @dantheman and @ned and threw it into the ocean. Perhaps they will find him. We then left this unfortunate robot admist the desolation of Koh Mak, never to be seen again.
