As you know, there are two major ways to get HIVE for STEEM:
- Some crypto-exchange (cryptex24.io, bittrex.com, ionomy.com, probit.com)
- Steem-engine.com , or, even better - https://dex.steemleo.com/
In first case you have to use some intermediate currency like BTC, USD, KRW, UAH, etc and pay exchange the trade commisions when buying or selling this currency.
Bittrex's commision is 0.25%. Ionomy takes 0.2% (zero commision was only for the first week for HIVE/BTC pair). Probit also starts from 0.2%. The lowest rates are in Cryptex24 - 0.1% and you can pay even less if use Cryptex token that is traded on Steem-Engine. Do not forget that you need to pay them twice: first time when you buy intermediate currency and second time when you sell it.
Also, besides commisions, there is a difference of Bid and Ask prices. Exchanges are good for traders and those who want to exchange money fast. But what if don't care about trading , do not plan to use exchange often in future and just want to get Hive for Steem the most simplest way?
For such users there is another option - Steem-Engine market. This way one can send STEEM there for 1% fee, exchange on https://steem-engine.com/?p=market&t=HIVEP and withdraw HIVE also for 1%. It is general way and most steemians follow it.
But what if I tell you that there is third option :
3.Use Steem-engine but pay less then general 1%+1%
In this case the total fees for STEEM->HIVE exchange will start from 0.50% and if you want can be lower if you agree to wait.
This is possible due to https://steemfinex.com/ and https://hivefinex.com/ services. The first one is used for transfer STEEM to Steem-Engine and second - for withdrawing Hive to your hive wallet.
The fees are following:

Detailed explainations are on the above mentioned sites. In a nutshell, for STEEM/STEEMP you need to send money to @steemfinex account and write in MEMO number of hours you agree to wait (this is optional and if you don't want discount can be ommited). For HIVEP->HIVE conversion, send money from Steem-Engine to @hivefinex (with an optional memo for waiting time in hours) . Minimum sum is 1 STEEM/HIVE and that's all.

Please be careful when you send your tokens. Wrong transfers may be refunded manually with a signficant delay with fee is 25 HIVE/P (STEEM/P). Any wrong transfers less than the fee will not be refunded. No exception.
If you decide to try and use this way as I do, try with sum small sum (but not less then 1 steem/hive) first just to be sure all works as needed.
