I love Steemmonsters, so much so that this account is literally alive because of steemmonsters.
Recently I came across the art contest post announced by @steemmonsters and that got me riled up.
So I decided to recreate one of my favorite monsters with a little twist that does it justice.
Meet Goblin Sorcerer.
A monster from the earth splinter that has evil in it's smile, does magic damage and has sneak ability.
First thing I did is make a rough pencil outline using a source
I decided to go with a Hannya Mask twist which IMO made justice to the vibe I feel I get from Goblin Sorcerer. The red and the Hannya Mask flair accentuates the evil in it. Roughly pointed out where and how the colors will go in.
Used a yellow crayon pencil to give me a rough idea of where things go, and using the source to solidify the outlines.
Keeping Tattooed Hannya Masks as reference I started coloring to give the sorcerer a more animated feel while keeping it as close to what I want it to look like.
FINAL CUT
I put the little purple cloud of magic damage to really punch in what the Goblin Sorcerer may do when you come across it, Hannya Mask or not.
