A nice long giveaway post with statistics provided: excellent.

Here's my analysis.

The 6 legendaries in 100 packs is quite close to the 1% drop rate per card.

Regarding the statistics for opening 100 packs: legendaries primarily exist to create more interest in epics.

Think about it this way: if there were no legendaries, most users would settle on rares so far as their budget allows, but with legendaries, most users will settle on epics. So far as their budget allows.

They would like to have, at least, the second best. So it's always a good idea to create a disproportionately scarce first place item in product sales.

4 epics produces 100 XP, and 1 legendary produces 100 XP. But epics are much less scarce than legendaries. So on the one hand a few people will overpay to have the number 1 item; on the other hand, epics will be more often sold out. My predictions.

Wow, never thought that way. You are right, fair priced epics would sell faster than the legendaries.
