Hello everyone! Today marks the 7th day of my stay here in Steemit and I would like to look back and review what I've been doing here this week and reflect through it as I further discuss what was my expectations as well as its consecutive reality from my point of view and most of all what I learned here in Steemit. I do hope also this will help other new steemians, giving them insights about steemit.

I believe our very own goal here is to earn. Yes, I got attracted to what the people on the internet telling everyone that this platform will really give you money in return for contents worth reading. That sounded pretty interesting right. I was convinced and actually signed up 2 weeks ago and started my first article (it's all about a weed, WEEEEEEDS, you can check that out in my blog and it's not what you think it is Haha) and I got disappointed for I got zerooo views. Well, that sucks. Prior to that I stopped and criticized the platform as a scam and a failure.

Few days have passed, I met a friend (@jonelq) at school. I got surprised that he's been doing stuffs in steemit for quite a while now (already earned much) and I just knew from him steemit is currently booming here in the Philippines! Wow! Just wow. He explained to me more what is steemit, how it works and what should I do first. I was encouraged by him so I decided to start again.

So I made my very first post (not considering the weed thing, haha) and it was my introductory post. That post slapped me in the face, getting rid of my old and crooked conviction about steemit. With that, I got interested more and rigorously studied steemit. I posted more articles with much effort but unfortunately, back to what I believed in, I received very low results and feedbacks but this time it didn't disappoint me. Unknowingly, I fell in love with the platform not to which it gives money but to the fact it became my dumping place for ideas hiding in the midst of my old-fashioned brain. I believe some people do not believe steemit works that way for them instead ... yeah, for the money. But anyway who cares we are all going to die anyway. Haha

So, summarized below are the things I learned and presented as pieces of advice:

  1. Don't expect too much rewards instead focus on writing high-quality articles. This will help you to not to be discouraged.
  2. Quality over quantity. Like come on, who likes to follow someone with annoying poor contents.
  3. Don't beg for upvotes. You'll just sound desperate and pitiful. Instead, share them in a professional way. Sharing and begging are two different things. In fact, I highly encourage sharing.
  4. Engage to the community. Yes, and I would just like to point out this matter. I didn't expect to find this one on this platform. In fact, it's what I like the most. I never felt welcome in my life as that moment when I made my introductory post (that tells how boring my life is HAHA), especially from my fellow Filipino steemians (@purepinay, @iamkuyaj, @deeday31, @precise, @luvabi and many more). You might say that it's just an insignificant thing here but to me, it meant a lot. From the place where I came from, (Iligan City, Philippines) I found a new family. I would highly encourage new steemians (Filipino or not) to follow @steemph (kudos to the founder sir @deveerei along with other leaders) and its local aspects @steemph.manila, @steemph.cebu, @steemph.davao and @steemph.iligan which are being managed by local pioneering leaders. Through their initiative, the community is getting stronger and that's so well-pleasing. They share quality blogs made by other steemians promoting quality Filipino content including also @surpassinggoogle, @juvyjabian, @steemitfamilyph, @bayanihan, and @philippinetrail. Much more, they had projects and more to come for the betterment of the Filipino society. I can't specifically say here all their achievements which are all too many to mention. You can check their pages but yeah trust me, they all did well. I know there are still many Filipino steemians out there who helped in cultivating this community and a great salute for you guys. So yeah, I believe that engaging to the whole community wouldn't be that challenging anymore after establishing a stable bond between steemians locally.

I guess that would be all for now. I still consider myself a newbie to this platform and still studying its entirety. I do hope this platform will not be abused and continue to develop further. Thanks for stopping by! Steem on!

PS. I also came here to develop my english writing skill for I believe I suck at it (the irony tho for I'm known to be a grammar nazzi XD). I would love to be corrected and I believe that would greatly help me to become better.

Awww it warms my heart to see a newbie GET the essence of Steemit. I'm so glad you were given a warm welcome by the SteemPh Family 💗 That's exactly the sort of thing we aim for and I'm happy that with you we succeeded.

Welcome to Steemit! After reading this, I have no doubt you will achieve great things not only on the platform but in life. It's great to have you here.

Ps. You English is great, and have you met @asbonclz? He is lead of @SteemPh.Iligan. I'm sure he will look after you.

I know maybe I'm just exaggerating but yeah I am really am encouraged right now maam @bearone :) I still feel the warmness of the wide-open-welcome of the community <3 A deep gratitude to the initiatives you've done to the community maam as well as to other leaders. Also, I already encountered @asbonclz and known few pioneering leaders here and I noticed his leadership and determination in building the steem community here. Thanks once again maam. More power!

Sad my name's not here. Jk. I created philippinetrail though, part of bayanihan, and founder of steemph. Looking good man. Keep it up. I'll make sure this post gets some love.

@deveerei oh forgive me sir, I don't know much yet about the history(background) of the Filipino community here hehe. Glad to have encountered you sir .. I, myself, is still trying to connect to other steemians. Thank you so much for the initiative sir otherwise, this platform wouldn't be as much as welcoming to the Filipino community. Much respect. Kudos!

Haha nagjojoke lang ako. Great job on the post

Haha salamat po ng marami sir @deveerei

Your posts are really inspiring @kimikal :)

I don't find it inspiring haha but thanks anyway :)

Boom. Here's an ipvote with a trail. I like your outlook.

thank you so much @bayanihan ... I still have much to learn here :) this is so encouraging in my part thanks once again

Dasig lang kim. Back 4 months ago, halos wa koy ma earn. Dasig lang bahalag feel nimo way ga view sa imong post.

Haha Thanks for that! Still waiting for the pizza blowout haha

I struggled so hard on my first few months. First 2 weeks no earnings kahit best artworks ko na posts ko. Then I learned a lot. Now I earn 1-100k php per week. Same thing can be achieved by anyone as long as they don't give up. 100k php per week is actually smaller than what other Filipinos earn here.

Thanks for the encouragement sir @deveerei much appreciated :)
