I personally think all of the 5G stuff is nuts, but some of what he says about not being able to isolate covid-19 makes sense.
I know how to get hold of the video, but interesting that when you Google search for 'David Icke Covid-19' you get lots of links to news items saying how London Live (not london Real?) are being investigated by OFCOM for showing the video, not links to the actual video.
I'm glad it's on 3Speak.
I agree - some of his chat does actually make sense. I don't know that I've ever seen conspiracy news getting so much mainstream attention as this one did. I've been listening to more London Real interviews and enjoying them a lot.
Alternative news outlets must be getting a lot more traffic these last few weeks. People must be so sick of the mainstream media - there's a chance even the top of herd is getting sick of it.
Indeed, but when the mainstream media starts commenting on alternative media, we're in some kind of Douglas Adams world!
You've got a lovely place to walk there and it looks like you got a share of the nice weather. I will probably not watch the video unless someone can edit it down to a few minutes. I remember when David Icke lost the plot many years ago and seemed to be proclaiming himself as a new messiah in a world where lizard people run things. Does he still think that? A lot of conspiracy theories seem to offer simple (if crazy) explanations for complex events. COVID-19 may have aspects that are being covered up, but when the whole world is suffering from it then it is hard to point a finger of blame, although the numbers from China may be hiding something much worse. They can control the news that gets out.
If it is a man-made virus then it does not seem a particularly lethal one even if it is very disruptive. Health organisations all over the world have been preparing for something like this, but then governments still seemed to be caught out. The delays in acting in the UK and elsewhere may mean it kills a lot more people than it might have.
It will disrupt a lot of lives even when people do not get it. Businesses will suffer. It is forcing some right wing governments to implement some pretty socialist policies and the Tories look bad for running down the NHS over many years.
We do have a few on Hive who like a good conspiracy and will try to make this look like one, but the evidence I have seen is not compelling. As for the 5G nonsense...

Heh heh. I'm learning to be more open minded as I get older. My friend that alerted me to the London Real post's being pulled has talked to me a fair bit about Icke. I brought up the lizard thing to him again and he sent me a bunch of links that I haven't followed up. I'm not quite ready to dismiss it as I would have done even a couple of years ago. I mean you don't just go around claiming that people are lizards without either being nuts or actually onto something. Steemfest3 opened my eyes in rather a big way, particularly the meditation morning with @flauwy. The more I see, the less I know.
I am glad that this moment had such an impact on you. It was a magical moment in time, at a very special place.

It is not that hard to create a compelling 'conspiracy' with all sorts of links to others who think similarly. I was reading up on some background for Icke. Sounds like he had some sort of breakdown to me, but I am no expert. Scepticism is good to have, but when something affects the whole world then it is hard to believe it is deliberate. Oh, and Iran has no 5G to cause all their COVID-19 cases.
Of course we are not always told the whole story, but there are scientists all over the world who can spill the beans. The internet is a great spreader of expert advice as well as speculation. Working out which is which is not always trivial. People love a juicy story. There are some countries who actively engage in spreading false information online to create chaos. China, Russia, USA and others all want to increase their influence. Given that they are all threatened by this virus I would hope they can collaborate to find solutions.
