We are not all of the same gift or calling.
There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. - 1 Corinthians 12:4.There are five ministers in the full time package.
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers. - Ephesians 4:11 NIV.The first one is the ministry of the teacher. The teacher brings clarity to the scripture. The office of the teacher is so essential in the building of the church. The word of God is made very clear and explicit.
The second being the pastor: To shepherd the flock, is the responsibilities of the pastor. He is like the father and mother of the flock. He nurses the sheep, practically takes care of the members of the church.
Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace to all of you who are in Christ. - 1 Peter 5:14 NIV.
The evangelist: He is the soul winner. He has the portfolio of outreaches to the lost souls. His natural concern is to preach the gospel to the unsaved. He has as assets the gifts of healing and miracles for the work.
Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah there. When the crowds heard Philip and saw the signs he performed, they all paid close attention to what he said. For with shrieks, impure spirits came out of many, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. So there was great joy in that city. - Acts 8:5-8 NIV.
Prophet: This is the mouth piece of the Lord. We are not talking about daily vision about petty issues. We mean giving direction to the church about God's purpose and intent.
After we had been there a number of days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. Coming over to us, he took Paul’s belt, tied his own hands and feet with it and said, “The Holy Spirit says, ‘In this way the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles. - Acts 21:10-12 NIV.
Apostle: This is the sent one, the head of the Ministry. He is a combination of all other offices. He is more of overseer of the work. The planter of churches. One grow up into this office. It is not for beginners.
