Currently, in society, there is competitiveness in all areas because the demands are greater and there have been highly qualified people who want to achieve success. Similarly, it occurs in children who are learning to live in this society and, therefore, copy the actions of family members that surround them.
Since childhood you can see the competitiveness of each child, for example, in several games, you can see the behavior that the more toys you have, the winner. The advisable thing is that the adult close to the children should encourage the games that they can do in groups so that they learn to socialize and interact with the other members of the game.
However, teamwork is a fundamental part of a correct performance in society and such teaching is essential to start at home.
It is very true that it is important for children to carry out individual activities to reinforce levels of self-sufficiency and independence, but teamwork facilitates communication with other children. In addition, it helps them integrate well into society and encourages collaboration for the community where it is developed.
Objective of teamwork
• Enhance and complement the skills of each member of the group to achieve a benefit for all.
Advantages of teamwork
There are several positive reasons to work as a team, and these are:
• Responsibilities and tasks are divided in a balanced way, for this reason, it does not generate fatigue in a person.
• Ensure good friendly relations.
• It facilitates the resolution of problems.
While it is true that achieving a goal is only satisfactory, but if the same effort is made in a group, it has a very positive impact.
Tools to achieve teamwork
For the teacher to teach his students how to work as a team, without fights and without feeling bad for not being taken into account, it is essential to establish rules in the classroom, to facilitate the change in the use of the "I" within the team, for "all" for the best development in the classes.
• Establish guidelines for group work, defining the activities of each member of the group.
• Create good communication among team members, to generate a harmonious environment and improve the development of work.
• Educate the students about the commitment between the members of the group, so that all achieve the same goals regardless of adversity.
Didactic activities that achieve the success of teamwork
• Activities with a common goal: in the case of the classroom, it is advisable to distribute tasks such as maintaining the order of the room, decorating the poster and taking care of the plants.
• Carry out a shared project, where group responsibilities are established and communication is worked well to achieve success.
• Make a shared drawing on the board, here dialogue and communication between the students are strengthened. This activity begins where each participant draws an image, then he/she must cover what the student did and then the other partner starts to draw and this will happen successively until the final product is seen.
• Touch the phone, in this group the activity begins to form a circle and information, is given to the first student and this will pass the information to the next partner's ear until reaching the last partner, who will be responsible for revealing the information that gives the first student. In general, the message reaches the last student in the wrong way, teaching them the value of communication and avoiding believing in rumors.
• Sports practices such as soccer, volleyball, where the goal is to win.
In general, living beings are genetically programmed to compete. However, it is important to teach our children that regardless of their age or responsibilities, we will always need the help of one or more people to reach an objective.
