OPINION: Dear DOC (Department of Conservation), you have killed three innocent Takahē after doing an aerial 1080 predator control drop in the Kahurangi National Park.
How can you claim the three Takahē were not 'known' to the bait or exposed to the bait before, for the cause of death. You knew well enough that any animal, insect or bug are also at risk of dying and or have been killed by the masses of dropping 1080 poison since 1957.
You should be ashamed regardless of your apology, you know well-fair-and square that this happens behind closed doors much more often.

Innocent Deer have been filmed dying. Cows have been filmed dying. You never had apologised about that but covered it up, too many times on the accidental poisoning of diverse life in the bush. DOC should be ashamed and fined for what they've done.

At thisquality we're pushing for DOC, even OSPRI, to go to public meetings about 1080 poisoning, but anxiously they have failed to talk to the public too many times. DOC is and will always be a corrupt organisation and it's a shame New Zealanders have to view propaganda shown not just on TV but on social media. A few examples are above.
