My steem journey thus far...

My Steem Journey.png

The steem ecosystem blessed me with some fantastic opportunities. My life literally changed in a couple of months because of what is going on here. And it did not impact only one aspect of my life, but all the three major aspects on which I decided to focus: personal, entrepreneurial and social.

The understanding of blockchain technology and more specifically the understanding of the steem blockchain made me go all into this domain and it’s the best thing I ever did.

1. A medium for self betterment

Here, on steem, was the first time I started laying down my thoughts on paper in a non-lyrical manner and I discovered how hard it is to relay a message to other people in a way that they will understand what you are talking about. Coherence is not an easy thing to achieve and I still have a lot of work to do on this side, but I welcome the challenge.

The first thing I did when deciding what to write about was to name my blog “Building the Future” because this is exactly what I always wanted to do, to leave this world at least a little bit better than how it was when a arrived. And thankfully there are amazing chances of doing this with all the community projects unfolding, like my “two homes” @steemromania and @tribesteemup, or others like @utopian-io, @steemstem, @steembuilders and other I am sure exist but I don’t know about.

One of my personal goals is to have enough material for at least a 100 page book after one year of steeming, it will be a collection of prosocial essays focused on human nature, community and technology. This booklet will be an adaptation of the posts I believe to be relevant to this endeavor.

Basically, the steem ecosystem gave me the opportunity of putting my thoughts in order so I can maximize the impact I want to have in the world and to also make some money in this process, which is fantastic.

2. An incubator for projects

On the entrepreneurial side, things are also going better than I ever expected.

I am not a very organized person, I’m 30 and almost all my life I when by the feel of things and did not make any plans, but there is merit to having goals. And the first real goal I set for myself proximately a year ago was to go mad if I was still centrally employed when I turned 30, which I think was a very good one :). Sadly I did not meat that goal exactly on time and spent an extra 2 and a half months employed, but on January 3rd when Bitcoin had it's 9th birthday, I called work and told them I resign. I had a lot of courage after the December bull run in the crypto market :)

So I ended up with a lot of free time to invest in this platform and started writing about all that made sense to me including the most wonderful of unicorns, the blockchain. And this did not go unnoticed, because a little over a month ago I personally met @sorin.cristescu, a member of our @steemromania community, and he asked me to join him in building a blockchain project called @ressolid. I am extremely grateful to Sorin for providing this chance to work on something I really believe in and I will do my best to add as much value as I can to this project.

I have written a series of four post called Blockchaining the future towards and abundance of trust (1,2,3,4)., in which I detailed my vision regarding this project but I will also sum it up here.

Ressolid is a digital trust solution based on blockchain technology that seeks to pave the way towards an abundance of trust. It will provide a digital analogue of the three major components of trust, namely identity, skill set and reputation. I strongly encourage you to read the series mentioned above if you want to get a deeper vision of this endeavor.

3. The community side is looking more prosocial than ever.

At this moment I am actively engaged in @steemromania, a prosocial community that seeks to be an incubator for “healthy” things it society, on the Romanian side of things. We recently submitted a project in order to obtain funds to support three young journalists in the steem ecosystem. Shortly we will launch a community campaign in order to translate the project into English and see what kind of support we can get from the international community.

I really am glad I found people that are also actively seeking to contribute in a prosocial way both to this community and society in general. It’s been a pleasure to work with @rbm, @alexdory, @guyfawkces4-20, @alexvan, @vonaurolacu, @ruth-elise, @calatorulmiop and @gadrian. These are all people willing to contribute to a higher goal with no immediate personal gain in mind, which are exactly the type of people I want to work with.

The other community I am part of is @tribesteemup, which is an abundance generator for conscious content creators with a focus on mindfulness and voluntary collaboration. I am also very grateful for this context because the community page gives some much-appreciated upvotes that provide a basic income. I did not have much to get involved in the organizing process there, but I will try to help as much as possible and also come with a prosocial proposal for a project, because I believe that over 200 conscious content creators really have the possibility of generating coherent and structured information that has an impact in the real world.

This is my journey thus far and the conclusion is simple, good things come to those who wait, but also act when the opportunity arises.

Interestingly it's the ride that shapes you the way you are.
Working with you was always a fun thing to do as I have gotten weary of people telling me what I want to do is not possible, because it's the human nature to be self-centered. I always wanted to think that was false and working with this community I found out that these values are worth fighting for.
Good luck in your projects from now on as well :p

Yes, my brother. The cinics call us utopian, but we know that in the steem ecosystem utopian is a working model :)

:) spot on!

firstly Well done on leaving your job and secondly yes to leaving the world a better place than when you arrived, that in itself is something we should all be aiming for. You have had quite the journey on here and I am sure it will get better and better. Thanks for sharing @lishu, it's always nice to get to know other tribe members, now I will have to make time to read your series on blockchaining the future x

Thank you for all the kind words :)
I started working on my introductory post to tribesteemup, hopefully it will be up soon :)

I would really appreciate some feedback on the blochchaining series :)

Very exciting steemit story so far.
I love the community factor which you mentioned.
Great to be part of people with the same interests like @steemromania or @tribesteemup.
Keep up the work here! :)

Thank you my brother, I sure will :)

Such great points! I really like the clean and clear layout of your post as well. Keep sharing these valuable insights :)

Thank you, that is exactly the plan, to share as much as possible :)

I wanted to check out your page, but it seems you don't really post, maybe that can change :)
