Time to submit your design for the 2019 Steem Round!
What is the Steem Round?
Two years ago steem silver gold community member @sevinwilson had a brilliant idea! He suggested the community should design a one ounce silver round especially for Steemit. Designs were submitted. Votes were cast and the round was made. 1500 were minted and they sold like hot cakes. In 2018 the whole process was repeated.

So I was mucking around over the weekend and came up with a couple of my own entries. I am so, so at drawing and donβt have any amazing design software. Here are three mock ups from my phone! π
@dfinney option 1:
Here we have a phoenix rising from the ashes. Steem value was low, hard fork 20 got us down, but as we all keep steeming ahead, Steem will rise to bigger and better things.
The words at the top of the round are from Seneca, a Roman philosopher/statesman. Ignis aurum probat, miseria fortes homines. In English this translates to:
βAs gold is tempered by fire, so strong men are tempered by suffering". The meaning is that in order to become pure gold, the original gold-bearing ore must go through the tempering process of fire; the analogy being that for a man strong in spirit, adversity and suffering are the tempering agents necessary to refine his character and bring out his true potential. Source
In the case of Steem and Steemit, there have been challenges, but ultimately our communities have become stronger as a result. βΊοΈ
@dfinney option 2:
Steem to the moon! We all hope the value of Steem will rise. The little steem rocket here is launching past constellations of minnows, dolphins and whales to do just that.
@dfinney option 3:
This one is super simple. This is a triquetra - interlocking half circles creating a three pointed cross.This symbol has been used over centuries to highlight the specialness of things occurring in threes. Using something symbolic of three seems appropriate considering this yearβs round will The the third in the series. I also like how the arms of this cross interlock without end. To me this highlights the durability of friendships made on Steemit. The border of this design has a Celtic vibe to match the cross. The word community under the cross symbolizes that community is the base for success on Steemit.
Everyone on Steemit is invited to create a design for the round!π
Entry period will be open for 30 days. This will allow steemians time to create another master piece. (Weβre at about 24 days left now.)
Create a post with your entry and use the tags #steemsilverround and #steemsilverround2019.
All entries will then need to be posted on the #steemsilvergold discord channel. There has been a special folder set up for this. Picture to follow below.
Once the entry period expires, there will be a 14 day vote period (giving all steemians enough time to vote).
Once voting ends Pre-sales will start.
Important All entries must be posted on the discord channel with a link to your original submission.This ensures we donβt miss seeing an entry.
Winning design creator will be award a prize. Prize will be determined at a later date.

I'm holding back as my version bring too dark, macabre and downright scary. What do you expect from a vampire-ish Goth? "I hear those mourning church bells again." Uh huh, not for the feint of heart, maybe save it for Gothcoin.

I really like Option 2! I like the little rocket because it reminds me of old cartoons for some reason.
Love the phoenix design, the first steem round was water theme, the second earth and to have a fire related coin for the 3rd would be cool
