In my first blog I will talk about my first coin.
I am a Brazilian and I was in Miami on vacation, about 1980. I was ambling , saw a LCS and decided to go there. It was my first LCS. Inside I spent a few minutes looking at several coins and one of them caught my attention. It was a Canadian Silver Dollar showing a cowboy taming a horse (1975 Calgary). I paid U$15 for it. At that moment I got hooked.

Since I was a child I loved the word Silver. At that time there was a cowboy in TV called The Lone Ranger. He was always wearing a white suit, had a First Nation (that is how Canadians call the "indians") companion called Tonto, used only silver bullets and his horse was called Silver. I was a great fan. How could I not love silver ?
To those who want to know what is on the other side of this coin I can only tell you that it is a portrait of a Queen and that she is not Canadian. That happens in all Canadian coins that I know, since 1953.
Thank you for reading and please comment, upvote, resteem and advise me.

Thanks for coming here.
Good post. Thanks for sharing, will follow you.
Great coin by the way.
Thanks for coming. I am following you too.
I love how Canadians use the word First Nation. Even Tonto is a slur. In spanish it means "Stupid". Thanks for sharing the story of your first silver purchase. Got a few more of those for us?
In Portuguese it has the same meaning as in Spanish. I will try to post daily.
Great first post. Very nice looking coin!
Thanks for coming.
Congrats on your first blog \o/
Thanks for coming here.
Hiya Ron, great first post! I would have liked to see both sides of the coin though... Unless it is a common piece like an SML or a Kookaburrah or something, most people want to see the whole coin — eapecially when it is a rarity like yours.
This coin is so common that you can buy it on Ebay today for less than U$12. I did not put the picture of the Queen because I am still struggling with my celular and because she is in every coin not only in Canada but in Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, United Kingdom....OK. I think that I played with your patriotic feelings. Let it be known that the Queen will always appear in my future blogs (if it is about a Canadian coin) .
Lol, it’s got nothing to do with patriotism or the monarchy... i just wanna’ see the back of something i haven’t seen before. Even if it is ol’ Elizardbreath II
i accidently called her lizard face to another 'older' Canadian on youtube and we nearly had a falling out! i was suprised how he held her in such high regard, but she did do alot more cool stuff back in the day, she was a mechanic during the war! i thought that was pretty cool i cant imagine her all covered in oil with a spanner in her hand :)
I love her! Think she’s great! Just not gonna’ get all subservient to anybody.
people in the UK just think she should get a job like everyone else instead of living off the taxpayers money, were distantly related so im allowed to be mean lol
She works her ass off in my opinion. People just butthurt ‘cause she’s so rich...
I know people will really miss her when one day she's not there anymore! British people just love to winge and moan! Just woken up to Snow everywhere! Let the fun begin 😀 ❄⛄👊
@owenwat She is the biggest problem in the World and I call her LIZARD too in many of my earlier YouTube Videos.
