Well, just like Durant, Boogie came and knocked and the Warriors door. They gave him something and he said yes. The interesting thing is that he expected a lot of calls and got basically nothing.
In his mind, he got all "Boogie" and said "I will go to the best team and make them better". This would have been true 2 years ago, maybe.
This could be the last year of the Golden State Dynasty as next year they will be set to loose players in the free agent market. Most notably, Clay Thomson. His dad was a Laker and has a very good relationship to the organization. I definitely see him joining forces with The King and propel the Lakers to at least 3 championships.
Going back to Boogie, I think he is just a name splash and did waves in the league just so that people don't forget him. He never played in a playoff game in his tenure so far and we will have to see how he feels in being the 1st start - from the bench- and if he will be ok with shooting 5 times only in a game?
you make some great points! There's a lot of uncertainty that comes with his signing regarding playoff experience + the injury. But when every member of the other team has gone the distance of an NBA championship and won them back to back I think that'll cancel out Boogie's lack of experience.
I'm shocked too that not a lot of people came calling for boogie. And just like Durant, it was actually Draymond who reached out to Demarcus first I believe. Yep, the Warriors have guys coming off the books next summer. Draymond and Klay I believe. Klay has publicly said he'll take a pay cut to keep their team alive but I don't think Draymond will do the same. I think Dray is looking to get PAID. And that'll be interesting because if he goes to another team, we will see what kind of player he can be outside of the GS system.
