RE: A posthumous memo by Stephen Hawking: towards a super collider in China (or at CERN?)

I like challenges (and abusing coffee)

This should be printed on some T-shirts

Concerning the location, I would really like to see it in Europe, bacause it boosts the technology. And currently, there is not so much tech left in Europe (Nokia, Philips, Alcatel, Sagem are not what they used to be). Silicon Valley is also not located in Europe.

And such a great project will provide an immense amount of tasks to be solved. That's what we need - puzzles. Challenges, abuse of caffeine and something to dream about once the caffeine reserves are depleted.

Sort:

Regardless of the location, the magnets will be American. They are the rocking stars. Then, for the rest, it will be shared by the world. For instance, detectors are built by the experimental collaborations that are made of thousands of people from dozens of countries. I think we should not be that worried.
