Make me Beautiful

"The Beauty you See in me is a reflection of you " ~Rumi.

This quotation may be in different context, it compasses all the aspects of beauty, so true, humane, artistic and general in nature but i like Rumi's poetry so much that article contained word "Beauty" and I could not stop myself from putting it here.

An excellent idea is always simple. A social experiment was conducted on individual basis where 24 years old Esther Honig sent his photograph to be Photoshoped to different designers in different countries to know How beauty was defined in their culture. Objective of Project titled "Before and After" was very simple spanning almost 25 countries to "Make her Beautiful" .

Designers according to their culture and definition of beauty Changed the color of skin to be lighter or darker, made changes in the eyebrows, some made thicker, bushy or shaved them to be pencil thin eyebrows and others kept it same.
Some made her to wear a Hijab according to their tradition and sense of beauty. Some countries changed the color of her eyes and other focused upon shape of the lips, Hair style and combination of all above parameters.

It helps us to see things from newer perspectives and to look at one's deeply held beliefs and to judge that there could be a room for new angle from other people's point of view. Nothing could be absolute.

In a deeper sense the said "Social Experiment" can be stretched in many directions as wee see and observe life. It gives space for free thinking and there could be found a great lesson relating to any aspect of life. It was not a scientific survey but it could be called as a Cultural Survey or Cultural Conversation. It is like these cultural conversations which will take the world closer to each other. Make us to respect other culture's thinking about a specific topic.

Idea was kept simple and focused on subject which is experienced everywhere and by everyone in the world but to find the answer in million different ways possible. It is like these ideas and social experiments which will educate us that life is not all black and white, it is not about being true or false. It even doesn't mean that even one to come to an answer. It was just about thinking and making the cultures to come Closer so that they understand each other well.
