Great post on cultural geography! My personal opinion is that the urban model is unsustainable. Largely because nothing is actually produced in centralized urban centers. Also, the quality of life in rural areas is far better, but this also depends on where you live. For instance, in West Virginia, poverty is a huge issue in the state. This is also due to them state taking an economic hit from the steady decrease in coal usage in the United States and around the world.
