Quite an informative and mind-twisting piece @mobbs.
Meanwhile, the thought of this line....

when mammals separated from birds and reptiles 180 million years ago, we may have still been laying eggs

....is so unnerving on so many levels. I'm glad we are particularly considered as higher developed and "supposedly" superior species now. There's nothing cool about the thought of homo-sapiens laying eggs anyway.
