That would be an interesting exercise to compute what material would be required to resist the hydrodynamic forces trying to pull the cube back into a sphere. I suspect that if such a material exists it would have a very low density and high strength, although we would still need a dense iron core to maintain gravity and some semblance of atmosphere.

One thing though, no need for complex mapping projections !
